Remote Treatment in Texas, Finally!

By  | June 26, 2017

Texas was the only state holding out on allowing complete telehealth services, requiring patients and physicians or care providers to meet in-person before using any phone or Internet devices to diagnose and treat.

Governor Greg Abott signed senate bill 1107 on June 1, meaning that now the bill must be approved by two-thirds of the Texas legislature on September 1.

There are exclusions with what is permitted via telemedicine. Any prescriptions for abortion methods or services, for example, are not permitted. And some sort of video interaction must take place.
